"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world, indeed it's the only thing that ever has."

Margaret Mead

Dear David,

In this time of doubt, fear, and confusion related to Hurricane Katrina, I hope to offer peace, love, and hope. I have found a number of quotes helpful in directing my thoughts and actions as I watch the events of this tragedy unfold.

We must give of ourselves to those in need. Be it a cash, clothing, or a simple prayer for our brothers and sisters, it all matters. Join me in contributing what you can at this time of need.

“Give what you have. To someone else it may be better than you dare think.”

- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

“Sharing what you have is more important than what you have.”

- Albert M. Wells, Jr.

“Two thirds of help is to give courage.”

- Irish Proverb

“Hope is grief’s best music.”

- Anonymous

“Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence.”

- Lin Yutang

“Prayer moves the hand that moves the world.”

- John Wallace

“Nobody makes a great mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.”

- Edmund Burke

“The best portion of a good man’s life – his little nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.”

- William Wordsworth

I hope you have been as inspired by these words as I have. Reflecting on my life as a Daymaker, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been reminded of the significance our small actions might have on the lives of others.

Blessings to all,

David Wagner
